In order to control a cylinder, you need (one of the following):

• A distributor: to control the flow of compressed air within the cylinder. For further information, please check out our article “How to choose a distributor”. There are several types of distributors (pneumatic, electrical, manual)

• A diaphragm pressure switch: by setting a pressure value limit beforehand, you can control the system. In order to prevent the system from racing.

• A pneumatic logic component: pneumatic logic components are “building blocks” which control the system without electrical automation (with taps for instance).
